Welcome to Bluebird Ridge Goat Farm.  We are Jim and Anita Osborne, and our son Rob helps as well.  Our farm is a small operation in Jacksonville, Texas. 

We started raising goats in February, 2002 with several Boers.  After a few years we also added a few full size Nubians.  We fell in love with their sweet personalities and decided to try our hand with the mini Nubians as well.  Our herd now consists of mini Nubians. 

Mini Nubians are a cross between a full sized Nubian doe and a Nigerian buck.  They were developed to have the high quality milk of the dairy doe in a smaller body, and still providing 2/3rds the amount of milk of a full-sized animal.  They consume 1/2 the grain and hay and also require less space.  Their small size and sweet attitude make them much easier to handle.  When the minis are bred, the babies will become one generation higher than the parent with the lowest generation.  For example, if a 4th generation is bred to a 1st generation, the baby will be a 2nd generation.
